There is both romance and danger that lurks at nightfall--perceived or real I can't say. I have learned how different the world looks illuminated by lamplight, becoming an entirely new land while most peoplemsleep: more lyrical, symbolic and gritty. Near sleep, there is a brief moment between wakefullness and dreams where our lucid thoughts and our flights of fancy collide. The symbols of dreams become real and decodable. I take these subtle alterations of reality and capture them in images. These photographs express my constant and abiding fascination with the physical and mental changes that occur once the sun goes down.
